Neoenergia Coelba enrolls 5.1 million customers in the positive register; understand the benefits

Cadastro acts as a database that gathers the payment history of 5,178,485 individuals and companies in BA and creates a score for credit analysis.

Neoenergia Coelba has begun entering the names of 5.1 million customers in the Positive Register. The register acts as a kind of indicator with financial information that can be accessed by the government and financial institutions, giving a score to the consumer, who can be an individual or a company, forming the Credit Score.

Established by Law No. 12.414/2011 and regulated by Decree 9.936/2019, the Positive Registry has a number of benefits. Based on individual analysis by financial institutions, interest and terms for loans and financing may vary according to each client's payment history, taking into account their respective credit risk.

“The Cadastro Positivo is the inverse of the historical credit denial, which is better known in Brazil. Neoenergia's inclusion in this database is important, as it enriches the consultation base with our clients at financial institutions. This inclusion is automatic and provided for by law. Customers who do not wish to be included in the Positive Register can request exclusion at no cost. I emphasize the importance of customers keeping their payments up to date in order to improve their credit rating and, consequently, obtain better conditions in the financial market,” says Marcelo Arnaud, Neoenergia's Revenue Management Superintendent.

Customer information listed in the Positive Registry is treated confidentially. Leakage of this information by banking institutions may constitute a crime under Complementary Law No. 105 (Banking Secrecy Law). The Credit Score is made up of financial and payment data related to credit operations such as loans, personal financing and credit and bills such as water, electricity and telecommunications.
