ANBC participates in event on data, AI and credit with a focus on innovation and responsible regulation
On June 18, 2025, ANBC took part in the event “Data, Artificial Intelligence & Credit”, held at the offices of Pinheiro Neto Advogados in São Paulo. The initiative, promoted in partnership with Zetta, brought together experts from the public and private sectors to discuss the challenges and opportunities of using data and emerging technologies in the credit system.
ANBC's president, Elias Sfeir, took part in the panel “Personal data, technology and credit risk”, alongside representatives from institutions such as Carlos Nascimento (ANPD), Diana Loureiro (Central Bank), Jessica Abreu (Serasa Experian) and Annette Pereira (Febraban, Itaú and CNPD), moderated by Raíssa Moura (Zetta).
During the panel, Sfeir highlighted the strategic role of credit bureaus in data governance, emphasizing the importance of aligning technological innovation, personal data protection and financial inclusion in a constantly changing regulatory environment. He also shared international experiences on the use of artificial intelligence in Europe and Asia, reinforcing the need for modern, effective and harmonious regulation.
Among the points discussed was the importance of:
- Harmonize the LGPD with sectoral regulations and future AI standards;
- Establish clear definitions of AI and criteria for its application in credit;
- Ensuring legal certainty for innovation with a focus on protecting data subjects;
- Promoting the ethical use of AI to increase access to credit and strengthen trust in the financial system.
The event's program also included debates on informational asymmetry and the cost of credit, with representatives from the Central Bank, the Ministry of Finance, Febraban and Zetta, and on authenticity and data security, with experts from ANPD, Santander and Open Finance.
