The basis of financial education, budget control is routine for 78% of Brazilians

Also according to a survey carried out by ANBC, 83% of the population is looking for information on organizing personal and household bills 

São Paulo, December 15, 2022: Fundamental to social well-being, financial education has been consolidating itself as an important agenda among Brazilians. According to data from the most recent survey carried out by the National Association of Credit Bureaus, 78% of the population said they were in the habit of controlling their budget, while 83% said they were looking for information to better organize their accounts.

The issue, which is gaining relevance amid rising default rates, is also the motto of the National Financial Education Week, an initiative of the Brazilian Financial Education Forum (FBEF) took place between December 12th and 18th. 

Also according to the quantitative survey of the ANBC, According to a survey carried out online between September 12 and October 21, the credit score itself, which refers to the citizen's financial behavior, is known by 53% of the respondents, with 68%, on average, declaring that they know what the index refers to. 

“We've seen through surveys that Brazilians are showing more concern and attention to their personal finances. And this is very important, as it leads them to seek not only guidance but also information on tools that can play a decisive role in this learning process,” says Elias Sfeir, president of ANBC. “More than that, transforming financial education into a financial attitude is fundamental to enabling resources received as a loan or financing to bring real well-being to the lives of people or companies,” he concludes.
