Entity brings content on sustainable credit to the state legislative ecosystem

São Paulo, November 27, 2024: The National Association of Credit Bureaus (ANBC) will be present at the 27th National Conference of the National Union of State Legislators (UNALE), taking place on December 3, 4 and 5 in Rio de Janeiro. The event brings together state deputies, national and international legislative officials, government authorities, foreign delegations and representatives of various organizations to discuss relevant issues. In this edition, the central theme is The Future of Education in Brazil and the event will focus on the application of new technologies in education and the improvement of the educational process at all stages of learning.

The president of ANBC, Elias Sfeir, will be one of the speakers at the event and will lead the panel “Financial Education and Credit” on December 5, starting at 9:15 a.m., which will address the importance of expanding access to financial education, its benefits, sustainable credit and how the legislature can act in this context. The talk will highlight how financial knowledge helps to make more informed decisions about credit, reducing the risk of default and promoting positive impacts on individual and collective economic health.

Sfeir will point out that financial health goes beyond controlling spending. “Decisions related to consumption, taking out credit, conditions and responsibilities should be within the scope of financial education,” he says.

The work of the credit bureau sector will be presented as an example of how it contributes to the issue with its solutions, available to consumers and companies. “Through technologies, tools, indicators and dialogues with society, credit bureaus and ANBC seek to support society in understanding and preventing situations that compromise their financial health, such as over-indebtedness.”

The lecture also aims to raise awareness among parliamentarians about the importance of implementing financial education initiatives in their states, as a way of promoting sustainable development and conscious access to credit.
