The event brought together authorities, businesspeople and experts to discuss practical solutions to boost the productive sector and promote a more dynamic and sustainable business environment in Brazil.<\/p>\r\n<p>During the symposium, ANBC's president, Elias Sfeir, took part in a panel that covered topics such as credit, digital payments, financial inclusion and the regulatory challenges facing new technologies. In his speech, he pointed out that Brazil has a tradition of dialogue between the public and private sectors, and that the main points of regulatory attention today involve the cloud, artificial intelligence, tokenization and quantum computing.<\/p>\r\n<p>Sfeir pointed out that Brazilian credit bureaus have been using machine learning for more than two decades and that the advance of generative AI requires a modern and specialized regulatory approach. He presented six essential pillars for effective AI regulation:<\/p>\r\n<ol>\r\n<li>Clear definitions of artificial intelligence;<\/li>\r\n<li>Legitimization of risk-based credit discrimination;<\/li>\r\n<li>Regulatory risk classification to avoid stifling innovation;<\/li>\r\n<li>Prohibition of overlapping penalties;<\/li>\r\n<li>Using synthetic data to train models;<\/li>\r\n<li>Governance with regulatory agencies with specific technical knowledge.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<p>He also stressed the importance of harmonizing the views of consumers, regulators and the market, through permanent spaces for study and debate.
