Elias Sfeir admits, however, that credit is expanding in the North, even surpassing the national average; a paradox, he says, is a sign that income distribution in the country is not well balanced<\/h3>\n

According to data from the Central Bank's Economic Activity Index\u00a0(IBC-R)<\/strong>Credit is booming in the north of the country, even outstripping the national average. Despite this, defaults are also growing in the region.<\/p>\n

The parameters were given on Wednesday morning, 9, by the president of the National Association of Credit Bureaus\u00a0(ANBC)<\/strong>,\u00a0Elias Sfeir<\/strong>. According to him, the IBC-R revealed that the region's economy will grow by 4.8% in 2024, surpassing the national average of 3.8%.<\/p>\n

Speaking of\u00a0'LuizMeloEntrevista' (Di\u00e1rio FM 90.9)<\/strong>Elias Sfeir said that the advance of the economy had boosted demand for credit, especially among companies, but defaults had also risen.<\/p>\n

The president of ANBC revealed that in the state of Amap\u00e1 alone, the number of families in default rose by 62%.\u00a0\"This is a sign that the distribution of income in the country is not well balanced\"<\/em>he analyzed.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

According to the executive, regions with less historical access to the banking system tend to show more expressive growth when financial services become more accessible. However, the level of default in the region has been the highest in the country. Average 50% for Individuals\u00a0(PFs)<\/strong>\u00a0and 40% for Legal Entities\u00a0(PJs)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Elias Sfeir advised that in order to balance credit and debt it is necessary to resort to financial education, which he classifies as supporting the consumer in taking credit responsibly and avoiding a large debt.<\/p>\n
