In addition, during this period, the sector will postpone the inclusion of debts that are already in the process of being communicated in the database and will cancel the display of entries made after the public calamity was declared.

Thus, until the end of the established period, the default information, as well as all other information related to it, will be unavailable for consultation or use. The measure came into force on May 1st, the date on which the state of public calamity was declared in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, and will be applied retroactively.

The initiative, which aims to provide adequate time for renegotiations between creditors and credit consumers at this critical time, is subject to extension if necessary. “The idea is that, with this suspension, creditors, consumers and companies will be able to talk and renegotiate their credits in a responsible way so that the economy and social welfare can be re-established in a sustainable way in the state,” says Elias Sfeir, president of the National Association of Credit Bureaus, the entity that represents the credit bureau sector.

“Credit is a fundamental instrument and more than ever necessary for the resumption of productive activities in Rio Grande do Sul. For this reason, the sector believes it is essential to adopt measures that protect the integrity of the flow of information for assessing credit and, consequently, the system and all its agents,” concludes the executive.

Previously, in April 2020, in the face of the economic consequences of the pandemic, the credit bureau sector extended the period in which consumers and companies could be denied credit. The action had a positive impact, bringing stability to the credit process and encouraging negotiation between creditor and debtor during the health crisis.

ANBC Press Relations

Regina Pimenta: (11) 98136.6835 regina@pimenta.com

Ana Carolina Rodrigues: (11) 98674.0348 anacarolina@pimenta.com

Follow on Google News Due to the state of public calamity in Rio Grande do Sul, credit bureaus suspend debt denials in the state for 60 days Initiative came into effect on May 1 Due to the state of...

Em razão do estado de calamidade pública no Rio Grande do Sul, birôs de crédito suspendem negativação de dívidas no estado por 60 dias
[254
169,97,446
post-3361","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-sala-de-imprensa","tag-anbc","tag-biros-de-credito","tag-rio-grande-do-sul","blog-post
["GET
