How Par\u00e1's sanitation company can benefit local consumers and businesses with access to credit and fairer conditions<\/h3>\r\n

As part of the agenda to deal with this resource and its benefits, Elias Sfeir, president of ANBC, will hold talks next week with the president of the state's sanitation company.<\/em><\/p>\r\n

Par\u00e1 has the potential to increase the number of people between the ages of 18 and 70 on the Positive Register once the sanitation sector is integrated into the initiative, since the segment's scope is strategic for expanding the benefits of credit to the concessionaires' clients and the municipalities they serve. Currently, 64% of the state's economically active population is in the database.<\/p>\r\n

Following the successful inclusion of data received from financial institutions, telecommunications and electricity utilities, the sanitation sector, which corresponds to the fourth stage of the initiative, can add approximately 50 million records to the Positive Registry throughout the country, according to data from the National Association of Credit Bureaus (ANBC).<\/p>\r\n

To increase the engagement of sanitation companies and promote compliance with the Cadastro Positivo law (Law 12.414 as amended by Complementary Law 166, OF 8\/04\/2019), ANBC, the representative of the credit bureaus that manage the Cadastro Positivo, is focusing its efforts on a series of actions with concessionaires, associations and governments to clarify the program and its benefits. As part of this agenda, Elias Sfeir, the entity's president, will be in Bel\u00e9m on January 30 for a meeting with Jos\u00e9 Fernando de Mendon\u00e7a Gomes J\u00fanior, president of Cosanpa (Companhia de Saneamento do Par\u00e1).\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

With the main objective of assisting in risk assessment when granting credit by means of positive information, the Positive Registry allows creditors to have a more detailed view of the payment history of borrowers - whether they are individuals or corporations - making it possible to offer credit conditions that are more appropriate to each profile.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

\u201cThe engagement of the Cadastro Positivo information sources is fundamental to the success of the program, whose main objective is to democratize access to credit, reduce defaults and promote the financial inclusion of consumers and companies. Our agenda with Cosanpa seeks to demonstrate how important the company's adherence to the Positive Registry law is and the social role of the initiative, which aims to leverage the local economy, regional development and social well-being,\u201d says Sfeir. According to the executive, for companies, the socio-economic gains of adhering to the Positive Registry can, among other benefits, improve the evaluation of the social indicator of the ESG rating, generated by the world's leading risk agencies.<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n
