Credit bureau sector intensifies actions to engage the sanitation area in the Positive Registry; adherence could add 55 million records to the database<\/h2>\r\n

ANBC celebrates the milestone of around 160 million registrations in the program's database, promoting the financial inclusion of 14.7 million consumers and companies, and is betting on the sanitation sector to increase this penetration and visibility for credit<\/em><\/p>\r\n

The Cadastro Positivo (Positive Registry) (Law 12.414 as amended by Complementary Law 166 of 8\/04\/2019) is now in its fourth stage of implementation, referring to the data of customers of sanitation companies. Following the successful inclusion of information received from financial institutions, telecommunications and electricity concessionaires, which is currently being implemented, the sanitation segment has the potential to include up to 55 million records in the database, according to the National Association of Credit Bureaus (ANBC).<\/p>\r\n

With the aim of supporting concessionaires in adhering to the law and extending the benefits of the Positive Registry to their contingent of clients, ANBC has intensified the agenda of actions aimed at engaging the sector, involving public and private concessionaires, governments and associations across the country.<\/p>\r\n

The Positive Registry is an important tool for assessing the risk of granting credit by means of positive information. In this way, creditors can receive a fairer credit assessment.<\/p>\r\n

Since the beginning of the sanitation journey, the organization has promoted initiatives in the states of S\u00e3o Paulo - where it took part in the National Sanitation and Environment Fair (Fenasan) - Paran\u00e1, Para\u00edba, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul, Maranh\u00e3o, Cear\u00e1, Bahia, Par\u00e1 and Amazonas.<\/p>\r\n

During conversations with local authorities and utilities, ANBC has been highlighting the results and benefits of the Positive Registry for the local economy and for sources, as well as offering technical and legal support for the implementation of the initiative.<\/p>\r\n

\u201cWe are providing those involved with information and results that demonstrate the sector's potential for expanding access to credit, reducing defaults, promoting financial inclusion and the consequent development of the local economy and social well-being,\u201d says Elias Sfeir, president of ANBC.<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

For the concessionaires, sources of the Cadastro Positivo, the advantages are numerous. \u201cAs well as not being legally exposed, sanitation companies can contribute to a drop in defaults, improve their ESG score in the S for Social category, and act to promote regional development,\u201d adds Sfeir.<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n
