The change in the rules of the Cadastro Positivo, which is being discussed in the Chamber of Deputies, is arousing interest in the press and receiving support from opinion formers. We can make this claim based on the recent results obtained by ANBC (National Association of Credit Bureaus) in the main Brazilian media outlets. As you know, ANBC is part of the\u00a0Positive Registry Front<\/a>\u00a0and supports the new CP as a way of democratizing access to credit.<\/p>\r\n

Last month alone, there were 66 publications on the subject. In the newspaper Valor Econ\u00f4mico, for example, ANBC had the opportunity to point out that the new Cadastro model could generate an expansion of credit to companies of all sizes in the order of R$ 790 billion in the medium and long term, equivalent to 12% of Brazil's GDP, according to our studies.<\/p>\r\n

In April, ANBC was interviewed by Jornal Nacional in\u00a0a report that pointed out the bills with the potential to boost the economy<\/a>. On the occasion, the expectation of a drop in interest rates if the new Cadastro rules are approved was highlighted. It was also pointed out that the new CP will improve the relationship between creditor and consumer.<\/p>\r\n

In addition to the reports on the benefits that will be generated by the new Register, which is already evidence of the recognition of the importance of the CP for the economy, opinion formers have been taking a largely favorable stance. The new Register, which provides borrowers or consumers with the benefits of CP automatically with the possibility of withdrawal, is seen as a way of modernizing the credit market, stimulating competition in a sector that has few players. With increased competitiveness, the tendency is for interest rates to fall.<\/p>\r\n

In this sense, it's worth listening to\u00a0journalist Carlos Alberto Sardenberg's comments<\/a>\u00a0on his Linha Aberta program on the CBN network. Check out\u00a0the article published in the newspaper \u201cO Estado de S. Paulo\u201d<\/a>\u00a0by the chief economist of XP Investimentos, Zeina Latif. In her column, Zeina defends the approval of the new Cadastro model as a way of increasing access to credit and reducing the cost of obtaining it.<\/p>\r\n

Editorials in major Brazilian newspapers favoring the approval of the new Register by Congress were not uncommon. To mention just two of them\u00a0The Sheet<\/a>\u00a0e\u00a0Valor Econ\u00f4mico<\/a>. At Folha, it wasn't just one editorial, but at least three.<\/p>\r\n

We are delighted with this positive response. We hope that Brazil will soon be able to count on the new rules of the\u00a0Positive data<\/strong>, The aim is for the benefits of the change to be felt by all Brazilians, especially good payers.<\/p>\r\n
